Habans Scholars Unveil New State-of-the-Art Green Schoolyard

On Thursday, November 2nd, Habans scholars welcomed city officials, and representatives from the Trust for Public Land to their school, as they officially unveiled their new playground.

Tubman Welcomes Superintendent John White during his Statewide Tour

On Monday, November 6th, Harriet Tubman Charter School received a special visit from State Superintendent of Education John White. Tubman was honored to beselected, since this sort of visit is rare. They were also excited about his visit as it gave them the opportunity to show off their K-1-2 Montessori program.

Akili Families Celebrate Thanksgiving with Inaugural Turkey Bingo Event

Akili hosted their inaugural Turkey Bingo on Thursday, November 16th. Over 100 members of the community gathered to play bingo, all in hopes of winning a frozen turkey.

Crescent City Schools Creates New Program for Students With Exceptional Needs

In the fall of 2016, Crescent City Schools piloted the Aurora Program for our network of three schools in New Orleans. This highly individualized program is designed to meet the unique needs of children with documented emotional and behavioral concerns that are significantly impacting the child’s ability to be successful in his/her regular school setting.
