Emma Weiss is the Director of Alternative Programming for the Aurora program at Crescent City Schools. Emma has been working with children and their families for over thirty years in various capacities. Emma received her BA in Sociology and Criminal Justice from Wells College in 1983. Emma also attended Boston University School of Social Work and graduated with her MSW in 1987. After twelve years in the mental health field, Emma transitioned into the education world, becoming the principal of the Merrimack Alternative School, just North of Boston in 1999. Emma has since had the privilege to lead both traditional and public charter schools in Arizona, Hawaii and Utah before relocating to Louisiana. She has successfully led two schools through federal school turnaround, and has always maintained a focus on making sure that every child is successful in school.
