Jasmine Archangel is the Director of Curriculum and Instruction for grades 6-8 at Akili Academy. Jasmine began her teaching career in northern Louisiana, where she taught first and second grade. Since the beginning of her career, Jasmine has had a passion for ensuring that all students had the tools necessary to become successful readers. Her passion for improving students’ reading ability compelled Jasmine to pursue a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction at Louisiana Tech University. After completing this degree program, she became the Curriculum Strategist for grades 3-5 at Ruston Elementary. At Ruston, Jasmine implemented an intervention structure where students received lessons designed to meet them at their unique level and strengthen their skills. As a result of this intervention design, Ruston students made significant academic gains. Consequently, the school’s letter grade improved from a grade of D to a grade of C within one year. Jasmine is deeply rooted in Akili’s core values and committed to ensuring all children receive an excellent education to prepare them for high school, college, and beyond. Jasmine holds a bachelor’s degree from Grambling State University.
