Jessica Bordelon is the Chief of Staff at Harriet Tubman Charter School, where she coordinates the hiring process, manages logistics and events, and ensures the smooth running of the school and its programs. She brings to Tubman several years of nonprofit leadership and management experience. Prior to joining the founding staff in 2011, Jessica served as the Program Manager for The New Teacher Project’s RSD Staffing Initiatives contract. There, she supported 15 direct-run principals in hiring their staff, and managed human capital work for the contract. Previously, Jessica worked for Big Brother Big Sisters as the manager of Match Support, placing young people with their mentors and keeping track of the mentor-mentee relationship.
She holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Southern Mississippi in political science and a master’s degree in public administration with a focus in nonprofit leadership from University of New Orleans. A native New Orleanian, Jessica remains involved with the Mount Carmel Alumni Association and is on the advisory board for UNO’s Public Administration Student and Alumni Association.
