Chanel D. Long is an attorney currently practicing at the Law Office of Chip Forstall. Previously, she served as the Chief Public Defender for the 25th Judicial District. Her extensive background in public defense includes tenures as a Staff Attorney for the Orleans Public Defender’s Office and Director of Training for the 22nd Judicial District Public Defender’s Office. She is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association, the Louisiana Association for Justice, and the Louisiana Association of Criminal Defense Attorneys, and is a former member of the Public Defender Association of Louisiana. Chanel has been recognized as one of the National Black Lawyers Association’s Top 40 Under 40. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Tennessee State University and her Juris Doctorate from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law. She is also a proud Crescent City Schools parent.
