Christoper Justin is the Director of Community and Opportunities at Paul Habans Charter School. In this role, Christopher directly manages the enrichment team, oversees the school’s family engagement initiatives, community partnerships, and the high school placement process.
Christopher has been in education for 9 years and is a member of the Paul Habans Charter School founding team. He has served in a variety of capacities at Habans, including teaching 2nd grade, 5th & 6th grade math, and 6th & 7th grade science. He also has served as 6-8 team leader, In-School-Suspension Coordinator, and Dean of Community and Family Engagement.
Christopher has received a wide range of training in the STEM approach to learning, which stresses hands-on development in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math.
With a focus on preparing the youth of his community for higher education and future employment, Christopher understands that practical application of academics learned in school is key. As an experienced math and science teacher, he incorporates this focus on practical application within the classroom and beyond. Outside of the classroom, Christopher has co-founded a local non-profit, Father House Kids, and spearheaded the STEM program for the organization. He is well-versed in architectural, drafting, and design software, teaching computer skills to middle and high schoolers, 3D printing, robotics, and foundational computer programming.
This cutting edge STEM training for students gives them a huge advantage in critical thinking and coordination. Christopher has seen substantial improvement in both academic performance and behavior in the students who participate in STEM education.
Christopher is a fellow of the teachNOLA Teaching Fellows Program and is a graduate of Southeastern University at Lakeland, Florida where he received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a minor in Religion.
