Kimberly R. Fair is the 3-5 Director of Curriculum and Instruction at Paul Habans Charter School. In this role, she oversees the logistics, curriculum, instruction, and culture of her team. She also works closely with the principal and assistant principal to reinforce school wide culture and academic expectations, and to align her team to the overall vision and mission of Habans. She manages and collaborates with Instructional Deans to effectively coach and lead her team.
Kimberly began her teaching career as a paraprofessional at Habans in 2015. She served as the 5th Grade ELA Teacher from 2016- 2021. She served as the 3-5 Team Lead and ELA Instructional Dean. In 2016, Kimberly was recognized for exceeding Habans’ school wide academic achievement goal with 77% of her 5th graders scoring basic or above on the LEAP. In 2017, Kimberly was awarded the Instructional Excellence Award in recognition of meeting Habans’ school wide academic achievement goal with 35% of her 5th graders scoring mastery or above on the LEAP. That same year, she was honored by the New Schools for New Orleans with a New Orleans Excellence in Teaching certificate for her exceptional teaching, student achievement, strong relationships with students, constant learning, and impact on school culture.
Kimberly is a native of New Orleans, La. Growing up in Algiers, she attended Harriet Tubman Elementary School. She proudly speaks of being one of the students who voted to change the school’s name from Aldoph Meyers to Harriet Tubman. She attended O. P. Walker High School. She earned her Bachelor of Arts from Grambling State University 2010. In 2017, she earned her Masters of Art in Curriculum and Instructional from University of Phoenix.
Kimberly is dedicated to providing a high engagement learning experience to every student she encounters. She lives by this Habans belief- “Life is hard, so school must be AWESOME!”
