On May 2nd, more than 320 donors raised $23,665 for Crescent City Schools on GiveNOLA Day, a regional day of online giving organized by the Greater New Orleans Foundation. These funds donated on GiveNOLA Day go directly to the five campuses in the CCS network: Harriet Tubman Charter School, Tubman Montessori, Akili Academy, Dorothy Height Charter School, and the Aurora Program.
The schools will use the funds raised on GiveNOLA Day for various purposes, such as funding educational field trips, purchasing new band and sports uniforms, and buying art supplies.
Out of more than 900 participating nonprofits, Crescent City Schools ranked 16th for having the most number of unique donors on GiveNOLA Day. More than 240 donations came from donors in Louisiana, while the remaining donations came in from donors in 26 different states across the U.S.. Within the category of Education, Crescent City Schools ranked 4th (out of 207 educational nonprofits) for having the most number of unique donors.
