Crescent City Schools is excited to welcome students back to Harriet Tubman Charter School, Tubman Montessori, Dorothy Height Charter School, Mildred Osborne Charter School, and the Aurora Program for the 2024-2025 academic year.
We begin this year excited to build on the progress our students made last year. As their 2024 LEAP scores indicate, the percentage of CCS students scoring Mastery & Above and Basic & Above increased across all testing areas (Math, Science, and ELA). This is a testament to our students’ hard work as well as to our amazing teachers.
In order to continue this positive trajectory, CCS is increasing the level of support it provides to its teachers in meaningful ways. CCS places a tremendous value on professional development for all staff, starting with three weeks of network-wide professional development before the start of each academic year. CCS is now providing unprecedented levels of support for Math, Science, Social Studies, and ELA teachers that will persist throughout the academic year. These staff members will collaborate with their peers across the network and, through ongoing coaching from Directors of Content, these educators will build expertise in their respective academic focus areas.
We believe that this continuing investment in our teachers will positively impact our students this academic year. As always, I can’t wait to see what our staff, students, and families will accomplish together this year.
Sincerely,
Kate Mehok
