On May 6th, as well as the days leading up to GiveNOLA Day, hundreds of CCS supporters clicked “donate” on their phones and computers to show their support for our students. Thanks to the generosity of more than 400 people, nearly $29,000 was donated to Crescent City Schools on GiveNOLA Day, a period of online giving organized by the Greater New Orleans Foundation. The funds donated to CCS on GiveNOLA Day go directly to the five campuses in the network: Harriet Tubman Charter School, Tubman Montessori, Dorothy Height Charter School, Mildred Osborne Charter School, and the Aurora Program.
Crescent City Schools is especially grateful to a number of local businesses who supported the network leading up to GiveNOLA Day. Participating companies include:
- Arthur Gallagher
- Esplanade Energy
- King & Jurgens, LLC
- Strix IT
School leaders will use the funds raised through GiveNOLA Day on playground equipment (new purchases or repairs/maintenance of existing equipment) as well as field trips (near and far).
“GiveNOLA Day is such a fun, celebratory day for our network and all donations truly make a difference,” shared Nicole Escarra, Director of Development at Crescent City Schools.
“Every person who donated to CCS on GiveNOLA Day should feel great knowing that their donation, whether $10 or $1,000, is going right back to our schools in ways that directly impact our students,” added Escarra.
Out of 972 participating nonprofits, Crescent City Schools ranked 9th for having the most number of unique donors on GiveNOLA Day. More than 280 donations came from donors in Louisiana, while the remaining donations came in from donors in 24 different states across the United States. Within the category of Education, Crescent City Schools ranked 3rd (out of more than 220 educational nonprofits) for having the most number of unique donors.
Crescent City Schools is grateful to all donors on GiveNOLA Day for their support of its students, staff, and schools.
