For GiveNOLA Day, more than 500 donors chose to support Crescent City Schools. As a result, CCS received more than $40,000 for its schools and programs. This is the most that CCS has ever received through GiveNOLA Day fundraising efforts.
“There were more than 1,000 nonprofits who participated in GiveNOLA, so there were obviously a lot of worthy causes that people could have given to. We are really grateful to our donors for choosing CCS,” said Nicole Escarra, Director of Development.
Crescent City Schools is especially grateful to a number of businesses who supported the network leading up to GiveNOLA Day. Participating companies include:
- Arthur Gallagher
- Ericksen Krentel
- Esplanade Energy
- King & Jurgens, LLC
- MarshMcLennan
With more than 530 donors, this was also the most number of donors who have ever contributed to CCS during GiveNOLA Day. Although nearly 75 percent of donations came from Louisiana, the remaining 25% of donors came from 29 states, with a handful of donations coming in from outside of the country. Out of more than 1,000 participating nonprofits, CCS ranked 5th for having the most number of donors.
Each year, school leaders and staff decide how they will spend GiveNOLA funds, and this year’s chosen projects are diverse, ranging from “seat sacks” to keep students organized to new student computers.
“Our school will be able to purchase more than 30 new student computers with the GiveNOLA funds that we received,” shared Tubman principal Mariyam Salley. “Tubman scholars use their computers for so many things throughout the year, and we are grateful to every GiveNOLA donor for making this possible.”
Crescent City Schools is deeply grateful to all donors on GiveNOLA Day for their support of its students, staff, and schools.
