Danisha began her teaching career as a Kindergarten Teacher before becoming a 2nd Grade Teacher and Grade Level Chair at KIPP New Orleans, where she developed a strong foundation in literacy instruction and inquiry-based learning. She later transitioned into school leadership as a Dean of Students and Families and then as an Assistant Principal, focusing on instructional coaching, restorative practices, and building teacher capacity. In 2018, Danisha shifted to curriculum design, serving as a 3rd and 4th Grade Social Studies Achievement Manager, then as the 3rd-8th Grade Social Studies Curriculum Manager at IDEA Public Schools.

A California native, Danisha earned her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with a minor in Black Studies from California State University – Long Beach and later obtained a Master of Arts in Equity, Education, and Social Justice. She is passionate about creating culturally responsive, standards-aligned curricula and ensuring all students—particularly those from historically marginalized communities—have access to high-quality instruction.

In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her daughter, Marley, visiting family in California, and reading historical fiction.
