Jarred M. Jupiter is an educator and community advocate who is a native of New Orleans. Jarred graduated from Southern University at New Orleans with a bachelor’s degree in public administration. In his undergraduate career, he was a fellow in The Honoré Center for Undergraduate Student Achievement. After graduating, he became a teacher in the New Orleans charter school system. Jarred has taught grades K-12 in different capacities at Title I schools for seven years in New Orleans. In 2022, Jarred was selected as a NOLA Urban Leaders Fellow, working with Urban Leaders Fellowship in Denver. Jarred worked with a policy team to create a framework for a uniformed grievance policy for students and families in the district. Currently, Jarred is working toward a master’s degree in Urban and Regional Planning with a concentration in community development at the University of New Orleans. In his spare time, Jarred loves to travel around the country, and he volunteers for several nonprofits. While serving on the Crescent City Schools Board, Jarred also serves on the New Orleans Council on Aging, the Police Community Advisory Board (District 3), and St Raymond & St. Leo the Great pastoral council.
