Jarred M. Jupiter is an educator and civic leader and a native of New Orleans. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Public Administration from Southern University at New Orleans, where he was a fellow with the Honoré Center for Undergraduate Student Achievement.
Following graduation, Jarred began his career as an educator in the New Orleans charter school system. Over the past ten years, he has taught students in grades K–12 in various capacities, primarily serving at Title I schools throughout New Orleans. In 2022, Jarred was selected as a NOLA Urban Leaders Fellow and worked with the Urban Leaders Fellowship in Denver. As part of the fellowship, he collaborated with a policy team to develop a framework for a uniform grievance policy for students and families within the district.
Jarred is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Urban and Regional Planning, with a concentration in Community Development, at LSU New Orleans. Beyond his professional work, he enjoys traveling throughout the country and volunteering with several nonprofit organizations.
While serving on the Crescent City Schools Board, Jarred also previously served on the New Orleans Council on Aging and the St. Raymond & St. Leo the Great Pastoral Council. He currently serves on the Audubon Commission and the Police Community Advisory Board for the 3rd District. He is also an active member of the Sigma Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated.
