TOM BECKMANN

Born in California and raised in Illinois, Tom Beckmann has proudly called New Orleans home for the past 35 years. With over 40 years of experience in the food service and event management industry, he has built a distinguished career defined by operational excellence, culinary innovation, and strategic leadership. A Certified Executive Chef and graduate of Joliet Junior College’s Culinary Arts program, Tom’s expertise spans culinary and menu development, large-scale event execution, and multi-unit operations. His work across corporate, educational, and hospitality sectors reflects a consistent focus on quality, efficiency, and guest satisfaction.

Tom currently serves as Food Service Director at Crescent City Schools, overseeing menu innovation, recipe development, and operational planning. His leadership history includes serving as Area Operations Manager for multiple charter and public schools, Director of Operations for the New Orleans School of Cooking and Riverview Room, and Regional Director of Operations for Emerge Group. During his 15-year tenure with Sodexo, he held several key roles, including General Manager at Tulane University and Senior Regional Manager for Culinary Standards, supporting more than 130 accounts nationwide.

Recognized as one of New Orleans’ Top 25 Chefs, Tom has earned numerous medals from the American Culinary Federation and Louisiana Restaurant Association, and served the culinary community as Treasurer of the ACF New Orleans Chapter for two terms.
