Teachers and school staff work long hours and are committed to helping their scholars succeed. May 6-13 was National Teacher Appreciation Week, and it was a chance for school leaders and parents to thank them for their dedication.
“I want to recognize the incredible work you do each day with our scholars. Every day, you are doing the hard work to put our kids on the path to college. Each lesson plan, parent phone call, and positive narration, is movement forward in our mission to bring an equitable education to the amazing community we work in…THANK YOU!” – Julie Lause, Principal of Harriet Tubman Charter School
“I am so thankful for every single person at our school. Our greatest strength as a school is a united staff that does everything it can to make Akili a special place of learning for our scholars because for all of us here, our students come first. Thank you truly for all that you do every day.” – Allison Lowe, Principal of Akili Academy of New Orleans
“Thank you for all that you do to ensure the academic success of our students! We appreciate your hard work and dedication… you are a valued asset to the Habans Community. We’ve had a great year at Habans, overcoming obstacles and challenges together, celebrating together, and supporting our students to ensure they make huge academic gains together! – Elisabeth LaMotte-Mitchell, Principal of Paul Habans Charter School
Gestures of appreciation included crawfish boils, massages, gourmet popcorn, doughnuts, bagels and coffee, “room service” deliveries of treats to classrooms, catered lunches, and small gifts and notes of gratitude from parents and students.
