On May 3rd, more than 320 donors raised $25,156 for Crescent City Schools on GiveNOLA Day, a regional day of online giving organized by the Greater New Orleans Foundation. These funds donated on GiveNOLA Day go directly to the four campuses in the CCS network: Harriet Tubman Charter School, Tubman Montessori, Akili Academy, and Paul Habans Charter School, as well as the Aurora Program, which supports students from across the CCS network, as well as students from schools outside of the CCS network. The schools will use the funds raised on GiveNOLA Day for various purposes, from purchasing new band uniforms to buying new playground equipment for students.
Out of more than 900 participating nonprofits, Crescent City Schools ranked 21st for having the most number of unique donors on GiveNOLA Day. More than 220 donations came from donors in Louisiana, while the remaining donations came in from donors in 27 different states across the U.S. as well as other countries. Within the category of Education, Crescent City Schools ranked 7th (out of 210 educational nonprofits) for having the most number of unique donors.
