On May 4th, 334 donors raised more than $25,000 for Crescent City Schools on GiveNOLA Day, a regional day of online giving organized by the Greater New Orleans Foundation. These funds will go directly to the three schools in the network: Harriet Tubman Charter School, Akili Academy, and Paul Habans Charter School, as well as the Aurora Program, which supports students from across the CCS network. The schools will use the funds raised on GiveNOLA Day for various purposes, from purchasing additional musical instruments to funding educational field trips.

Out of more than 900 participating nonprofits, Crescent City Schools ranked 20th for having the most number of unique donors on GiveNOLA Day. More than 180 donations came from donors in Louisiana, while the remaining donations came in from donors in 29 different states across the U.S. Donations also came in from the United Kingdom and Australia. Within the category of Educational Nonprofits, Crescent City Schools ranked 5th (out of 208 nonprofits) for having the most number of unique donors.
“I often joke that GiveNOLA Day is my favorite day of the year because we can really see and feel the support of and love for our staff and students pouring in from New Orleans and beyond,” shared Nicole Escarra, Director of Development at Crescent City Schools.
